Membership guidelines

BuyLocalMN exists to support our locally-owned and operated, independent Minnesota businesses. To make sure this site fulfills that mission, we ask that businesses meet some simple criteria in order to join the listings:

  • business located in Minnesota
  • at least 51% of the business is owned by Minnesota residents or those living reasonably near the MN border
  • the business is free to make its own business decisions without the need for approval by owners or affiliates outside of the area, including those with regard to appearance and products/services offered
  • the business is not a publicly-traded corporation

If you're not sure about whether you fit, please contact us with a description of your business and any questions you have.

Review of and final discretion regarding listings is reserved by the MetroIBA board of directors.
